Police: Repair shop found child pornography on man’s computer

EPHRATA, Pa. (WHTM) – A Lebanon man was jailed on child pornography charges after police said a repair shop worker found illegal images on his computer.

Bruce Schmidt, 52, was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility, Ephrata police said.

Schmidt dropped off his computer at a repair shop where an employee found the suspected images and reported them to police. Authorities said a forensic examination verified the presence of hundreds of images of suspected child pornography and thousands more images of child erotica.

Schmidt was committed to Lancaster County Prison on $25,000 bail.
