Man killed in Dauphin County wreck

REED TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle wreck in Dauphin County Friday afternoon.

State Police said 81-year-old Lawrence Burton, of Bath, was exiting the parking lot of the Sheetz in Reed Township, northeast of Duncannon near the Dauphin-Perry County line . He was trying to cross State Route 322 to turn left when his car was hit by a pickup truck traveling west. The wreck happened at about 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Burton was pronounced dead at Harrisburg Hospital, State Police said. His 73-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Hershey Medical Center.

The driver and child in the pickup truck were not hurt.
