Police: Man shot after road-rage incident

Police say a man was shot after an apparent road-rage incident in Warwick Township, Lancaster County.

According to police, there was an incident between two drivers on Newport Road. The drivers then allegedly pulled off into the parking lot of Lititz Family Cupboard around 9:10 Wednesday morning.

In the parking lot, police say a confrontation occurred between a 74-year-old male and a 29-year-old male.

Police say the 74-year-old was lawfully carrying a concealed handgun and shot the 29-year-old, striking him in the face and jaw.

The 29-year-old was taken to Lancaster General Hospital with traumatic injuries and at last check, was in surgery.

Police say they secured the shooter and the weapon at the scene, the shooter was cooperative with police and after an investigation, was released without charges.

Police are not releasing the names of the two men involved.
