Madeline B. Balsbaugh turns 102 years young on Wednesday, born May 6, 1913.
She’s celebrating her birthday at ManorCare of Camp Hill.
On Wednesday, Madeline shared some of her secrets to longevity. The first, to get lots of sleep, the second is to eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Finally, have a nice boyfriend.
Throughout her life, Madeline says she would walk over the Market Street bridge, which was just a walking bridge at the time, to buy dresses.
Madeline is a magnificent painter and knitter. She learned to knit during WWI when she was barely 5 years old and knitting for the soldiers.
Since then, Madeline has taught generation after generation how to knit.
