CommunityAid raising starting wage

The more than 200 employees of CommunityAid will have a starting wage of $10 per hour.

CommunityAid announced Wednesday that starting in June 2015, the organization will institute a $10 per hour minimum wage for all positions.

All hourly CommunityAid Thrift Store employees will also receive a $.50 per hour raise.

Founder, Glenn Chandler, says, “We owe it to those we rely on most to pay them accordingly.”

CommunityAid employs more than 200 team members across three stores in Mechanicsburg, Hanover, and Selinsgrove.

The organization says it plans to open a fourth store in Lancaster later this year.
