Police renew call for help with robbery investigation

Lancaster City Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a dark colored SUV in an effort to solve an armed robbery investigation.

On April 17 at 9:34 a.m. police say a 72-year-old man was walking near the 1st block of N. Mary Street in Lancaster when he was approached by a man.

Police say the elderly victim was pushed up against a parked car and the suspect displayed a handgun before removing his wallet and pushing the victim to the ground.

The suspect is described as a tall black male in his 20’s with short black hair wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt.

He reportedly fled on foot toward Mary Street and then east on Grant Street.

Police say an LSC video captured images of a dark colored SUV, most likely an Isuzu Trooper, pulling up to the victim as he was on the ground. The passengers inside asked the victim if he was alright but then left.

Police believe the people inside the SUV may have seen the crime and could help their investigation.

If you recognize the vehicle or have any information about the crime, contact Lancaster City Police Detective Tom Ginder at 717-735-3345.
