HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) – Hersheypark hit a few speed bumps when it opened its summer season Friday.
An ABC27 staffer was there when riders became stuck on Fahrenheit roller coaster’s 121-foot vertical lift. The coaster was wheeled back down so the riders could exit.
The Wild Mouse coaster also got stuck and people had to walk down from it.
Also getting the crowd’s attention was the Lightning Racer roller coaster. It, too, became stuck on the way up, but the ride eventually was rolling again.
Two other coasters were out of service.
In a statement, Hersheypark spokeswoman Kathy Burrows said the issues were caused by a brief power outage at the park. She said the rides reacted the way they should and all were reset and back in operation by 4:30 p.m.
