Codorus State Park to add more land

HANOVER, Pa. (WHTM) – Codorus State Park is about to get bigger.

The state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources announced Thursday that it has acquired the former Rohrbaugh property on the southern boundary of Codorus, along Blooming Grove Road in Manheim Township.

The acquisition will add about 48 acres to the state park in York County.

Acting DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn said the property includes wetlands, fallow fields that are reverting to forest, and a mixed hardwood and evergreen forest.

Natural attractions include a network of trails, great views and access to Long Run.

Dunn said the state invested $219,000 in Growing Greener 2 funds to purchase the land.
