Harrisburg man arrested for Maryland bank robbery

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – A Harrisburg man is facing bank robbery charges in Maryland.

Jesse A. Burney, 32, was arrested in Chanceford Township, York County and is awaiting extradition, state police in York said.

Burney is accused of robbing a bank in Harford County at around 10:44 a.m. Monday.

Several troopers responded to the area where he was thought to be traveling and one of them spotted his vehicle and began following it, police said in a news release.

Burney fled from the trooper and intentionally drove his vehicle into a field where he abandoned it, police said.

He was found as troopers and a state police helicopter were searching a wooded area.
