Lewisberry Road to close next 3 weekends for Turnpike work

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. (WHTM) – Route 114 under the Pennsylvania Turnpike is scheduled to close this weekend and the two following weekends for a widening project on the toll road.

Route 114, known locally as Lewisberry Road, will be closed from Evergreen Road and Normandy Drive beginning at 8 p.m. Friday if weather allows for the construction work, according to Fairview Township police.

The road is scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.

The closure is scheduled to be repeated Friday, May 1 through Monday, May 4 and Friday, May 8 through Monday, May 11.

Police said the established detour west of the construction zone is Lewisberry Road to Interstate 83 south, Interstate 83 south to Fishing Creek Road, Fishing Creek Road to Old York Road, and north on Old York Road to Lewisberry Road.

From east of the construction zone, drivers should take Lewisberry Road to Old York Road, go south on Old York Road to Fishing Creek Road, Fishing Creek Road to Interstate 83 north, and Interstate 83 north to exit 39A for Lewisberry Road.
