Wellsville school bus in accident after driver swerves to avoid deer

WELLSVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) – Two Wellsville Elementary students were treated for minor injuries after a school bus accident Monday morning.

The bus was transporting 24 elementary students when the driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer on Quaker Meeting Road around 8:35 a.m., according to a statement from Northern York School District.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Another bus was sent to pick up the students involved and transport them to Wellsville Elementary.

Parents of those involved have been notified.

A full investigation into the incident is underway, according to the statement.
