Police: Man attempted robbery at Marietta bank

MARIETTA, Pa. (WHTM) – Police are looking for the man who tried to rob an East Donegal Township bank Monday afternoon.

The would-be robber entered the Susquehanna Bank at 1154 River Road and handed a demand note to an employee. When he asked for the note back, he was denied and left the bank without any money, Susquehanna Regional police said in a news release.

The incident occurred at around 2:45 p.m.

The suspect is possibly in his mid 20s, about 6’2″ to 6’3″ tall with a slim build, and “scruffy,” police said. He was wearing baggie blue jeans, a red/gray hoodie, a white/dark stripped polo shirt, and sunglasses.

Police have released a surveillance photo so that someone may recognize him.

Anyone with information may call Susquehanna Regional police at 717-426-1164 or 717-426-1158.
