2,000 in Lower Paxton, Susquehanna townships affected by water main break

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – United Water Pennsylvania has repaired a water main break that left about 2,000 customers in Lower Paxton and Susquehanna townships either without service or with low pressure.

The repairs were completed by 2:30 p.m. Monday.

The break in a 24-inch main occurred late Sunday afternoon on Linglestown Road. Crews temporarily shut down service Sunday evening to make repairs, but complications delayed the fix.

The break affected homes and businesses on Linglestown Road between Colonial Road Crums Mill Road as well as other streets in the area including Bordeaux Court, Ringneck Drive and Versallies Drive.

The company has notified affected customers that they will have to boil their water because of an increased chance that it may have disease-causing organisms.

Those customers should use bottled water or bring their tap water to a rolling boil for one minute and let it cool before drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and food preparation until further notice.
