Summer gas prices predicted to be most affordable since 2005

ALBANY, N.Y. (MEDIA GENERAL) – The most affordable gas prices since 2005 is expected this summer, according to GasBuddy.com.

The average price of gasoline in the United States is expected to be around $2.35 per gallon between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

“That means more Americans can afford to pack up and go enjoy a summer getaway because the cost of getting there will likely be the lowest since 2005,” said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy.

Data from the Energy Information Administration shows the largest week-to-week buildup of crude oil since March 2001, which underscores the downward pressure on fuel prices, according to GasBuddy.com.
