Police: Shoplifter hid $63 beef slab in pants

EPHRATA, Pa. (WHTM) – A Lancaster County man is facing charges after police said he walked out of a grocery store with stolen meat in his pants.

Ephrata police said they arrested 50-year-old Vincent Burns at the Redner’s Warehouse Market parking lot on North Reading Road.

Burns, who has a last known address in Washington Boro, is accused of shoplifting a large slab of Angus Beef valued at $63.

Store management told officers they saw Burns hide the slab of beef down the front of his pants and leave the store Wednesday night.

Police said they found Burns in the parking lot as he attempted to flee the area.

He was charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.
