13,000 chickens killed in barn fire

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of an overnight fire in Lebanon County that killed thousands of chickens.

The fire started shortly after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at a chicken house on Hamlin and Chestnut Hill Roads in Bethel Township.

The fire chief for the Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Company said 13,000 chickens died in the fire.

The barn was destroyed.
