Police investigate tire thefts in Perry, Lancaster counties

SHERMANS DALE, Pa. (WHTM) – Police in two counties are trying to figure out who stole tens and thousands worth of tires from two businesses.

At Deimler’s Tire Service in Carroll Township, Perry County, the family-run business recently discovered several empty trailers. Thieves stole $80,000 worth of tractor trailer tires.

It may have been the work of professionals.

“They specifically took them. They didn’t take recaps, we got trailers of those full, they didn’t that,” owner Gilbert Deimler said. “They specifically knew want they wanted and took the high-dollar stuff, plain and simple.”

In Lancaster County, $60,000 worth of tires were stolen last week from the GCR Tire Center in Mount Joy.

Police are investigating whether the two incidents are connected.
