Police: Harrisburg man on probation had stolen gun, drugs

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A city man was arrested after police said they found him with more than $1,300 worth of illegal drugs and a stolen handgun.

Joseph Julius Adams, 20, had four grams of crack cocaine with a street value of $400 and 91 packets of heroin with a street value of $910 when he was arrested Thursday night, police said.

The Street Crimes Unit was conducting a bar check in the 1600 block of Sycamore Street when a probation officer assigned to the unit saw Adams in the bar. Adams is on probation and it is a violation for him to be in the bar, police said.

He was charged with receiving stolen property, carrying a firearm without a license, possession with the intent to deliver heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A probation detainer was filed against him for the violations.
