The Lower Allen Fire Company is raising money to memorialize a section of the World Trade Center from the 9-11 terror attacks.

For the past two years, the fire company has been working on various designs for a memorial for the six-foot piece of one of the towers.

The memorial will cost $12,000 and honor the 343 firefighters who were killed that day.

“We’d like to have it done asap,” said Director of Public Safety Frank Williamson. “We’ve had this piece for almost four years, so we’d like to get it going. We have a great design. The fire company is very excited about it. We’d like to move this project forward. As soon as we can raise the money, we’re going to start construction.”
