Lancaster man surrenders in shooting case

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A 21-year-old man accused of shooting his friend in the face last week has surrendered to police.

Alfred Hicks turned himself in Wednesday morning and was released after posting $25,000 bail, according to city police.

Hicks shot the 22-year-old victim in the face and hand early Thursday while the two were in his apartment in the 300 block of West King Street, police said. The victim was treated at a hospital for the non-life threatening wounds.

Officers seized two guns, a Russian semi-automatic 7.65 handgun and a sawed-off .22 caliber rifle.

Hicks is charged with aggravated assault and prohibited offensive weapons.
