Turnpike bridge work to cause delays in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (WHTM) – Traffic will be stopped on Vine Street from time to time Thursday due to construction work on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Drivers should expect 15- to 20- minute delays near the Turnpike bridge over Vine Street during daylight hours as bridge supports and beams are placed overhead.

Officials said drivers should avoid the area if possible or plan ahead for the long delays.

The Turnpike is replacing three bridges between mileposts 250 and 252 in the Middletown area. The work is part of a project to widen the toll highway to three lanes.
