NEW HOLLAND, Pa. (WHTM) – Police are offering a reward in the robbery of an Earl Township bank last week.
Lancaster County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the man who held up the Ephrata National Bank branch at 935 North Railroad Avenue.
Police said the man had a demand note that mentioned a gun, but displayed no weapon when he robbed the bank on the morning of March 16.
He then ran across Route 322 and entered a dark colored four-door sedan, believed to be a late 90’s Volkswagen Jetta or Passat, that was last last seen traveling north on Wanner Road toward Terre Hill and Denver.
Police said the driver was waiting for him as he entered the passenger side of the car.
Customers were in the bank during the robbery. No one was injured.
Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect, who is described as in his early 40’s with dark hair, a scruffy face, and about 5’5″ to 5’9″ tall with a small build. He was wearing a checkered shirt, dark pants, a knit hat, and tinted sunglasses.
Anyone who recognizes him should call New Holland police at 717-354-4647 or Crime Stoppers at 800-322-1913.
