Deer researchers to test common wisdom with tech

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Will deer move only at night when the moon is full?

Do they become nocturnal in hunting seasons or feed when a cold front is coming?

The Pennsylvania Game Commission and Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences are putting common wisdom to the test.

Researchers are asking the public how deer respond to the moon, weather and hunting, and then they’ll test those beliefs with data from movements of GPS-collared deer.
