EPHRATA, Pa. (WHTM) – A Lancaster man is headed to trial for the fatal shooting of his former mistress during an alleged ambush at her Ephrata apartment building last month.
Randall Scott Shreiner, 58, waived his preliminary hearing Thursday and allowed the case to proceed to Lancaster County Court.
Authorities say Shreiner was angry when 44-year-old Monica Lee Miller ended their relationship, so he waited outside her apartment building at 526 East Main Street and shot her multiple times on the morning of Feb. 18.
Shreiner was married but had an on-again, off-again affair with Miller over several years.
Police charged him criminal homicide and firearms not to be carried without a license. Prosecutors said he bought the gun he used to kill Miller one day earlier and did not have a concealed carry permit.
A formal arraignment is scheduled April 10.
