30 shots fired in Harrisburg, 2 injured

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police in Harrisburg are investigating a shootout that sent two people to the hospital.

Officials said 30 shots were fired in the 400 block of Woodbine Street between North 4th and 5th streets just after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The two injured people were both shot in the leg; they are expected to survive.

“The weather nice here, and already it’s in the high 50s,” explained Harrisburg Police Chief Tom Carter. “We having serious shootouts in the city, so we have concerned neighbors talking to other news media people here, and they’re afraid for their lives because it’s getting nice out, and people are out here shooting like this already.”

Authorities are still searching for the shooter(s).
