Police ID man arrested after Harrisburg standoff

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police have identified the man they arrested after a standoff Monday at a Harrisburg home.

Officers had an arrest warrant for 51-year-old Joseph Everett and learned he was staying at the home in the first block of South 17th Street. The owner confirmed Everett was there and gave permission for authorities to enter, but the officers found ammunition during the search and called in the Dauphin County Crisis Response Team around 4 p.m., police said in a news release Tuesday.

Everett surrendered without incident about four hours later.

He was charged with receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. Court records show he was wanted for retail theft.
