COLUMBIA, Pa. (WHTM) – A Columbia woman is headed to trial for shooting another woman in a shopping center parking lot last month.
Ashley Rose Curry, 31, was held for court at her preliminary hearing Monday. A formal arraignment is scheduled April 10.
Curry was arrested Feb. 3 after police said she shot 31-year-old Jamie Roland during an altercation outside Musser’s Market at 960 Lancaster Avenue.
According to the complaint, Curry was assaulting and using racial slurs against another woman when Roland and a friend intervened.
Curry retreated to her vehicle and shot Roland in the abdomen with a .40-caliber pistol as the argument continued, police said in the complaint.
Roland was hospitalized for treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Curry is charged with aggravated assault, ethnic intimidation and simple assault.
