Deaths of assistant principal, wife ruled murder-suicide

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – The deaths of a Solanco High School assistant principal and his wife have been ruled a murder-suicide.

Autopsies Wednesday found Avery Wilson died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Yarra Wilson was shot twice and her death was ruled a homicide, Lancaster County Coroner Stephen Diamantoni said.

The couple were found dead in their Lancaster Township apartment Saturday morning.

Avery Wilson had been an assistant principal at Solanco since September. He was a Spanish teacher and football and basketball coach at McCaskey High School in Lancaster from 1999 to 2005.
