A motorcyclist from Maryland has been charged in a high-speed chase and crash in Lancaster last year.
Officers tried to pull over 20-year-old Amos Harlan of Charlestown, Md. in the early morning hours on December 14, 2014 along North Queen Street. Authorities noticed Harlan weaving in and out of the lane, and he failed to stop at a red light.
Harlan reportedly sped away after an officer activated his siren.
Harlan fled for four blocks along Queen Street, and he managed to elude the officer. He failed to stop for a red light again, then collided with an SUV driven by Lindsay Colon Montalvo. Harlan was thrown from the motorcycle; he sustained severe injuries and was flown to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.
On Friday, the Lancaster District Attorney’s Office filed numerous charges against Harlan, including fleeing a police officer, driving under the influence, and driving while operating privilege is suspended.
Montalvo also faces DUI charges, as well as and driving while operating privilege is suspended.
