HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – The City of Harrisburg will continue its search to find a Zumba instructor, but spokeswoman Joyce Davis said they will seek grant money to pay for instructor Sandra Johnson to continue teaching classes at Foose Elementary School.
Johnson has been holding Zumba classes without pay since grant money ran out. She vowed to continue teaching until more funding became available.
“I would like to thank Wanda Williams and Joyce Davis for their efforts to keep this going,” said Johnson during Wednesday night’s Council meeting. “I know we will continue to grow and help residents get in better shape and feel better about themselves.”
The city issued a bid for a new instructor and indicated they will use money from the general fund to pay for the position.
