As snow fell Saturday in the Midstate, private plow drivers worked to keep local businesses and communities clear.
One of those drivers was Eric Cain, who owns his own company called Lawn Star. Cain allowed abc27 to ride along as he cleared a private community on a snowy day.
“It’s actually really peaceful when you’re out driving around in the storms,” Cain said. “Nobody else is really out and about at 2:00 in the morning when you’re out. The challenging part is being out at 2:00 in the morning when it’s been so chilling and you could be at home, warm, and safe in your bed.”
Cain spends a lot of his time going beyond the job description with acts of kindness like pushing stuck cars up steep hills.
“This winter has definitely held its own,” Cain said. “The challenge here is actually how hilly it is, and also with how cold it’s been this year. The snow’s just not melting like it typically does when it warms up throughout the day.”
