HAMBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police are looking for a man wanted for a kidnapping and robbery in Berks County.
Marshall Glenn McGinty, 43, no current address, abducted another man from an Albany Township home Monday afternoon, then drove him to a Pottsville bank and withdrew money from his account, state police in Hamburg said.
The victim told troopers he was house sitting in the 1300 block of Hawk Mountain Road and came home to find McGinty pointing an AK-47 rifle at him.
He said McGinty ordered him to lay facedown on the floor, tied his wrists together and took his wallet and keys. McGinty then drove the victim to the bank, withdrew the money, then drove to the Hamburg reservoir where he freed the victim and drove off in the victim’s car, police said.
McGinty faces charges of kidnapping, unlawful restraint, robbery, criminal trespass, theft, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
He may still be armed with the AK-47 and driving the victim’s car, a dark blue 2012 Honda Fit with Pennsylvania registration of GTD-7635.
