ETTERS, Pa. (WHTM) – A York County teenager has been charged in a crash that killed his twin brother last Father’s Day.

A criminal complaint filed Thursday charges 19-year-old Jacob Charles Hershey of Etters with homicide by vehicle and careless driving.

Newberry Township police said an investigation determined Hershey was driving a Chevrolet Corvette more than 80 miles per hour before he lost control and crashed into a large rock in the 2900 block of Old Trail Road on June 15.

His brother, Joshua Hershey, was thrown from the car as it overturned and caught fire. He died at the scene.

The brothers had graduated from Red Land High School just nine days earlier.
