Free measles vaccine clinic offered Thursday

Another free clinic offering measles vaccines will be held Thursday in Dauphin County.

It’s from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Dauphin County State Health Center at 30 Kline Plaza in Harrisburg.

Right now, there is still only one confirmed case of measles in the Midstate, diagnosed in Shippensburg last week.  There are more than 100 cases confirmed across 14 states.

Some pediatricians are treating unvacccinated children with caution. Some are making special arrangements to keep others safe, including offering the family a separate entrance.

In Pennsylvania, 87 percent of Kindergartners are vaccinated against measles.
