HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Lesbian, gay, transgendered and bi-sexual people can be fired or evicted for their sexual orientation; legally. But there is a growing movement to pass a law to stop that from happening.
Wednesday, Governor Tom Wolf met with Equality Pa. and pledged his support for anti-discrimination legislation. He said as a businessman, he sees ending discrimination as not only the right thing to do, but the smart thing to do.
“Why would we cut ourselves off from a talent pool that is as broad as it could possibly be,” Wolf said. “Why would we cut ourselves off from people because of who they love? That doesn’t make any sense.”
Wolf supports the legislation, but it’s up to the Republican-controlled legislature to approve it and get it to his desk.
