The Pennsylvania Game Commission held a public hearing Sunday to discuss banning young children from hunting.
Under the new proposal, kids under the age of nine would no longer be allowed to hunt turkey and deer.
Pennsylvania was one of the first states to allow a mentor program for children ages 6 to 12, but some on the commission’s board say adults are using the mentored youth tags for themselves.
Another public hearing will be held tomorrow. Members of the board will vote on the proposal this Tuesday.
