Pa. bill would require truckers to remove snow, ice

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Truckers would have to make all reasonable efforts to remove ice and snow from their tractor-trailers under a bill before the Pennsylvania legislature.

Sen. Lisa Boscola (D-Northampton/Lehigh) said she has reintroduced legislation to require snow and ice removal before driving a large truck.

Drivers could be fined $25 to $75 if a police officer determines there’s a threat to people or property.

Current Pennsylvania law only applies if the loose ice causes serious bodily injury or death.
