Harrisburg police looking for bank robber


HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police are asking for the public’s help to find the man who robbed a Harrisburg bank Tuesday afternoon.

Capital_Harrisburg_012015The robber had his face covered and indicated he had a handgun, but did not display one, when he demanded all the money from the M&T Bank at 1002 North Seventh Street around 1:25 p.m., police said in a news release Wednesday.

He then fled the bank and ran north to the front of the Penn State building, where he may have entered a maroon vehicle, police said.

He was described as 5’8” to 6’0″ tall with a medium build, and he was wearing a dark hoodie, light colored jeans or sweat pants, and bright white sneakers. He may have red dye on his hands or clothing from a dye pack that was handed over with the money, police said.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect and asked anyone with information to call Harrisburg detectives at 717-916-2635 or 717-255-6531.
