Middletown residents warned of car break-ins

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (WHTM) – Police are warning people in Middletown to make sure they lock their cars following a rash of thefts in the past week.

Police said the incidents all occurred during the overnight hours. In most of the cases, nothing of value was taken, but in all of the cases, the vehicles had been left unlocked.

They also reminded residents that items such as GPS units, cell phones, purses, wallets, jewelry and cash are often targets in vehicle break-ins.

Removing such items from your vehicle, or keeping them out of sight, greatly reduces the likelihood of a vehicle being broken into, police said.
