Man wanted for assault over heroin arrested, police say

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – Police have arrested a man who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend because she threw away his heroin.

Thomas Fortis, 31, was taken into custody at the victim’s apartment Wednesday and committed to Lancaster County Prison, according to East Lampeter Township police.

His bail was set at $5,000 cash.

Fortis allegedy beat the woman’s face with a closed fist and strangled her with his hands early Monday,

She was transported to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment.
