Arrest made in Manchester Township bank robbery

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – Police have arrested a suspect in Monday’s robbery at a Manchester Township bank.

Gerald Haigis, 40, is accused of holding up the Fulton Bank at 3183 Susquehanna Trail by handing a note demanding cash to a teller.

B7KR0J8CUAAVWNtNorthern York County Regional police released surveillance photos of the robbery and soon received a tip that the suspect was living in the 200 block of North Newberry Street in York.

Officers went to the home and were able to positively identify Haigis as the person responsible. Clothing worn and cash stolen during the robbery were recovered from Haigis and his home, police said.

Haigis was charged with robbery, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property. He was placed in York County Prison on $75,000 bail.

No weapon was displayed during the robbery and no one was injured.
