Police release new information in I-81 assault

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police have released new information in an apparent road rage incident where a woman’s car was beaten with a baseball bat on Interstate 81.

State police in Chambersburg said Thursday they’re looking for an older model, white or gray four-door sedan with a brown or rustic roof and a dark colored hood.

The car was driven by a woman who reportedly swerved between the southbound lanes Friday afternoon so that another driver could not pass, then stopped diagonally as the two vehicles approached mile marker 17.5 in Greene Township.

The driver then got out of her car with a blue metal baseball bat and struck the driver’s side mirror and window of the victim’s car before fleeing south on the interstate, police said in news release.

The suspect was described as a woman with black hair to the middle of her back, about 5’2″ tall and 120 pounds.

The 47-year-old victim and her juvenile passenger were not injured.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police in Chambersburg at 717-264-5161.
