Gunman threatened to shoot customer in gas station robbery

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A robber threatened to shoot a customer when he robbed a Harrisburg-area gas station early this morning, according to police.

Lower Paxton Township police said the bandit pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the customer and threatened to shoot the customer if the clerk, who was behind glass, did not immediately turn over money from the cash drawer.

The clerk turned over cash and the robber fled the Sunoco A-Plus at 4240 Jonestown Road shortly after 4:30 a.m.

No one was injured.

Authorities believe the robber ran into the Brook Apartments, but said they cannot confirm he did so.

He was described as being about 5’6″ tall and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a white mask, a gray skull cap and gloves.

Investigators are awaiting video from inside and outside the store and are attempting to locate video from other businesses in the area and the apartment complex.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lower Paxton police at 717-657-5656 or their anonymous tip line at 717-724-8317.
