Armed bandit stole cash, cigarettes in Fawn Grove

FAWN GROVE, Pa. (WHTM) – A robber took cash at gunpoint from a York County store and then jumped the counter for cigarettes, police said.

The robbery occurred at the Rutter’s Farm Store at 69 West Main Street in Fawn Grove at around 2:30 a.m., according to a news release from state police in York.

Authorities said the bandit pointed a revolver at the clerk, demanded the register money, then vaulted over the counter and stole several packs of Newport cigarettes.

He was described as a white male, about 5’7″ tall, with dark eyebrows. He was wearing a black jacket or hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and a mask that covered the lower portion of his face, dark blue jeans, and white low top sneakers.

There were no injuries.
