2 arrested in Lancaster on gun, drug charges

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – Two Lancaster men were arrested on gun and drug charges after a report of shots fired Christmas morning.

Steven Schweers, 24, and Tyler Alston, 21, were in possession of stolen guns when officers responded to the 400 block of Fremont Street at around 4:30 a.m., police said.

The officers had received information that people were on the block looking to fight others and had recently fired weapons. They approached four people, including one who threw a handgun to the ground and another in possession of a handgun.

Alston was charged with carrying without a license, persons not to possess a firearm, receiving stolen property and possession of marijuana. Schweers was charged with carrying without a license, receiving stolen property and possession of cocaine, police said.

Bail for each was set at $250,000.
