Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick has identified Harrisburg’s 17th homicide victim of the year as 25-year-old Terrell Porter, of Harrisburg.
The details surrounding Porter’s death has left investigators with plenty of questions.
Just before midnight Monday, police were called to 16th and Walnut Streets in Harrisburg. When they arrived, police found Porter’s body face down on the sidewalk.
Investigators say Porter was shot in the neck and the coroner says the angle of the bullet is unusual, which has investigators believing he was shot while leaning into a car.
Neighbors tell abc27 the neighborhood is a high crime area, known for drug activity.
Investigators believe Porter knew the shooter and officials have a person of interest in the case.
Harrisburg police are also investigating a car fire that happened Monday night, they believe it may be related to the homicide.
