Park in Harrisburg? SP+ has released information on the Harrisburg parking districts, rates and guidelines.

According to SP+, there are four different parking districts in Harrisburg: Central Business District, Old Midtown District, South of Central Business District (CBD) and the New Midtown District.

1. Central Business District

SP+ says all on-street parking in Harrisburg’s Central Business District is $3.00 per hour. Parking may be purchased with a credit or debit card, cash, or with a Park Harrisburg Smart Card. The minimum payment with a credit card is $1.50 for 30 minutes. Parkers can also purchase parking in five minute increments with quarters or a Park Harrisburg Smart Card.

2&3. Old Midtown District and South of Central Business District (CBD)

SP+ says all on-street parking in Old Midtown and South of CBD is $1.50 per hour. The minimum payment with a credit card is $1.50 for one (1) hour and customers can also purchase parking in 10 minute increments with quarters or a Park Harrisburg Smart Card. Metered spaces within the Old Midtown District and meters South of CBD do not offer the first 15 minutes free.

4. New Midtown District

SP+ says all New Midtown District meters are priced at $1.50 per hour. The first 15 minutes of parking at these metered spaces will be free. As is the case throughout Harrisburg, parkers are required to enter their vehicle’s license plate into the nearest multi-space meter. There will be an option to select only 15 minutes of free parking for those who need to use the space for immediate in-and-out needs. Individuals that need more time can extend their parking by inserting quarters, their Park Harrisburg Smart Card, or a Credit/Debit card.
