It’s fresh white slopes vs. black Friday deals.
In Lewisberry, there’s no competition.
Opening day for Roundtop’s 2015 season was met with supreme sunny/cold conditions.
Due to unseasonably warm weather last week, the resort had to put some of their snow making on-hold, putting it into piles to keep it cool.
“We just sat on it while it was warm because it doesn’t melt as much and as soon as it got cold again we groomed it out and made some more on top,” said Chris Dudding, marketing director for Roundtop.
He says they will likely lay down fresh snow every night until they have a solid base of about 3-4 feet.
Youngster, Ben and his father Glen have been coming to Roundtop Mountain Resort for three years.
Here’s the thing.
They live in Lutherville, Maryland.
“So we get to drive up together and get to share the mountain,’ said Glen.
Sharing the mountain and the memories is the goal of another snowy season, off to a stellar start.
