A New York man will spend 10 years in a federal prison for driving a 12-year-old central Pennsylvania girl out of the state for sex.
Trevoen Renel Parkins, 23, traveled from Buffalo to the girl’s school in Franklin County after meeting her online.
He waited all day for her to finish classes and then drove her back to Buffalo without her parents’ knowledge, according to U.S. Attorney Peter Smith.
While in Buffalo, he statutorily raped the girl twice, Smith said.
Telephone records led police to Parkins, who lied to police about the girl’s whereabouts and hid her for three days.
Police ultimately found her in a closet in Parkins’s girlfriend’s apartment.
Parkins pleaded guilty in July to transportation of a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
