A Lancaster man has been arrested for a shooting incident that injured another man Friday morning in the 800 block of Columbia Avenue.
Police said they charged 36-year-old Mickell Bynum of Lancaster with aggravated assault and related crimes.
Bynum is accused of beating a 28-year-old Lancaster man in the head with a gun and than firing a shot at his hand around 8:30 a.m. Police said the beating caused serious facial and head injuries to the victim. Initially police thought the man’s injuries came from a gunshot wound to the head but later learned the bullet hit the victim’s hand.
The victim was conscious and talking to officers before he was transported to a hospital, police said.
The victim’s name was not released.
Police said the shooting occurred inside a home, and the two men were known to each other.
